Poking or Broken Wire
If a wire is poking your cheek, use a clean cotton swab or eraser to gently push it flat, and cover the end with orthodontic wax. If it is still uncomfortable, call us and we will take care of it.
Loose or Broken Bracket
A bracket that comes loose is usually not urgent. Leave it in place if you can, cover it with wax if it is irritating, and call us so we can schedule a quick repair.
General Soreness
Mild soreness after an adjustment is normal. Over-the-counter pain relievers, soft foods, and a warm saltwater rinse all help, and it usually passes within a few days.
Lost or Misplaced Aligner or Retainer
Call us promptly. Going without can let your teeth shift, so we will get you back on track.

Some situations need prompt attention. Call our office, or seek medical care, if you have:
